The PHONEME MACHINE software uses moving human lips to demonstrate the pronunciation of the (sounds) phonemes in 100s of frequently used English words.
The programme is suitable for learners of all ages and abilities.
It develops a good understanding of the 120 keyspellings of English and their 44 sounds. This understanding is largely achieved by ‘blending all the sounds through a word’.
There are three sections:
1. CALENDAR.
2. WORD GRID (WG).
3. PHONEME GRID (PG).
CALENDAR has children's voices saying the days, dates, months, numbers, colours and letter names.
In WORD GRID and PHONEME GRID, a female voice and moving human lips pronounce the words and phonemes and a male voice names the letters.
There is a Cued Speech option for deaf learners and their teachers and parents (turned on and off in the Phoneme Grid). The shape, position and movement of the hands are displayed alongside the lips. These sound-based units give deaf learners access to spoken and written English. To install the Cued Speech video clips, download the zip file using the download address supplied. Software purchases are DOWNLOADED by the customer, using the DOWNLOAD ADDRESS supplied in the Order Confirmation Email (sent to the customer directly after the order has been received). The software is then opened using a Serial Number activation method.
